Evaluate My Website

Send us your website address and we will send you our free evaluation.

Ok, I get it - you do not have resources to hire a website developer or marketer. Yes, it costs money and effort and requires strategy and execution and more money. But there are several things you can do for free. One of them is adding your business to Google maps. It is not complicated. You just have to be prepared. You will be asked for the business name, address, phone number, description, etc. Work on the description part - make it appealing to your potential customers. If you have pictures to include, make sure they are professional (good resolution, nice setting). You are allowed to add up to 10 photos. You can choose to include photos from the web (make sure they are yours!) or from your computer. Make sure you read guidelines for photo upload. Pictures should be square and the right size otherwise they will look crooked, stretched or weird. Have your business information ready. Be prepared to fill out your business hours, credit cards you take, additional information, like if parking is available. After you are done filling out the form, you will have to verify the entry. Google has to make sure that the business you claim is actually yours. You will have to choose if you would like Google to call you immediately or send you a card. My personal favorite is the phone call: be at your business phone number, pick up the phone when they call and enter the confirmation code. If you prefer the mail option, they will send you a post card with your pin number. Go to the Google Business Center and enter the confirmation pin to complete your registration. All done. Now, that you are listed, a link to your business description will appear in Google Search results (on the first page) if a person searching is in your area. Of course, they have to search for something related to your business. Your listing will appear for any relevant search if a user enters a location (like, "San Francisco, CA") in the search field along with their keywords. And, of course, if someone goes to Google maps and tries to find you specifically or any businesses in the area for a specific category, your listing will pop up. Better than Yellow Pages. And Google maps on mobile phones also will guide people to your business. Not too shabby for a 20 minute project.
